As Skribble enters its Open Beta period, we'd like to see some posts around our fur-baby, Mr. Bookworm.
That's right: post your opening lines. Include the word bookworm. The three posts that make us the most passionate about reading further will win.
This contest is 100% free to enter.

The Stakes
First Place: $200 CAD. Second and third $100 and $50 respectively.
At the time of closure, the conversion rate was 0.72. The converted prizes are USD: $144, $72, and $36.

Special Considerations:

- Judging will be based on the first five sentences (to a maximum of 500 words). You may include the entire chapter for users who are hooked and want to read on.
- You may edit/change, remove/replace your entry until the deadline. If you have multiple entries, the single most recent will be considered eligible.
- By joining, you certify that you are the author. Contest open to stories not previously published or those whose rights have reverted to the author.

These is no cost to register an account, and there is no cost to join the contest.
Eligibility:
Contest open to medium (eg novella) and long-form works opening chapters.
You may only enter from a qualifying country. Implicitly, this means Canada (excluding Quebec) and the United States, as we can only issue prizes to these two currencies.
Your entry shall be counted as your agreement that your regional laws and jurisdiction allow you to participate.
Your entry counts as consent to the use of your user-handle and title in the list of winners / participants.
If you are a legal minor in your jurisdiction, you must have parent/guardian permission to enter.
Limitations and Liability:
Prizes can only be issued to the Email you sign up with (Competition Bureau rules, not ours).
This contest is skill-testing question required.
Privacy:
The winner list is public (handle, title). The public list is in accordance with displaying odds of winning. The body of the writing is private to the site, meaning the work is not considered published. You retain full rights including copyright to the work, and may even delete it after the contest ends.
Note that we are required to internally retain the three identifiers (user-handle, story-title, Email) in case of audit.
We will not use this information for marketing purposes or other in accordance with our privacy policy.
